# snoozestack > Snoozestack is an application backend platform. A project is a folder — a committed snoozestack/ directory declaring its functions, database schema, storage, queues, schedules, websites and auth in one project.toml — and one runtime serves that whole declaration: natively on your machine under `snoozestack dev`, and on snoozestack's hosted fleet after `snoozestack publish`. You drive it from the CLI, the web console, the JavaScript and Swift SDKs, or an AI client over MCP. Every page below is served in two forms from one build: HTML at https://snoozestack.com/docs// for people, and Markdown at https://snoozestack.com/docs/.md for agents. Both are extracted from the same render, so they cannot disagree — prefer the .md form for reading and quoting. The docs describe the current release. Install snippets name a concrete, version-pinned tarball rather than a "latest" alias, and the site is rebuilt whenever the CLI or an SDK publishes, so the version a page shows is the version that is live. Links between pages below already point at their .md form. Everything under https://snoozestack.com/docs is public and needs no credential to fetch. ## Get started - [Overview](https://snoozestack.com/docs.md): snoozestack docs: quick start, the runtime, CLI, console, and client SDK reference - [Quick start](https://snoozestack.com/docs/quickstart.md): Install the CLI, run the whole backend locally, publish it, and connect an AI client. - [Installation](https://snoozestack.com/docs/installation.md): Install the snoozestack CLI, JavaScript SDK, and Swift SDK. - [The runtime](https://snoozestack.com/docs/runtime.md): The anatomy of the snoozestack runtime: one service holding your project's functions, database, storage, queues, schedules, signals, and sites. - [Releases & previews](https://snoozestack.com/docs/releases.md): snoozestack preview runs your checkout in your own temporary copy of the project; snoozestack publish ships it to production as an immutable release; publish --release rolls back. - [Organizations & projects](https://snoozestack.com/docs/organizations-projects-sources.md): How organizations and projects relate on snoozestack. - [Using the console](https://snoozestack.com/docs/portal-tour.md): A section-by-section tour of the snoozestack console — hosted, and the identical local dashboard. ## Data - [Database](https://snoozestack.com/docs/database.md): The database inside the runtime: schema from files, queries from functions. - [Schema](https://snoozestack.com/docs/schema.md): defineTable() in schema.mjs is the schema — the only thing that changes a database's shape. - [Storage](https://snoozestack.com/docs/storage.md): Declared buckets, function-authorized access, and signed URLs. ## Functions - [Functions](https://snoozestack.com/docs/functions.md): Committed handlers on the (req, capabilities) contract — the boundary of your application. - [Queues & webhooks](https://snoozestack.com/docs/queues.md): Declared queues, triggers that run functions for their messages, inbound webhooks, and dead letters. - [Schedules](https://snoozestack.com/docs/schedules.md): Cron-triggered runs of a declared function — versioned with the code, testable locally. ## Auth - [Authentication](https://snoozestack.com/docs/authentication.md): Application identity: magic link, Google, Apple, and email/password — declared in the project, verified by the runtime. - [Permissions](https://snoozestack.com/docs/permissions.md): Auth modes gate entry, declared capabilities gate reach, and your query decides the rest. - [Secrets](https://snoozestack.com/docs/secrets.md): Declare secret names in the project; set their values with the CLI, per namespace. ## App - [snoozestack-js (JavaScript)](https://snoozestack.com/docs/sdk-js.md): The JavaScript/TypeScript client SDK for snoozestack. - [snoozestack-swift (Swift)](https://snoozestack.com/docs/sdk-swift.md): The Swift client SDK for snoozestack (iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS). - [Websites](https://snoozestack.com/docs/websites.md): Publish static sites and expose the project API through a custom domain. - [Domains](https://snoozestack.com/docs/domains.md): Custom domains, HTTPS, and DNS. - [Push Notifications](https://snoozestack.com/docs/push-notifications.md): Send iOS push notifications from a queue: register devices from the Swift SDK, enable APNs on your existing Apple key, and put a message naming a user on a queue. - [Signals](https://snoozestack.com/docs/signals.md): Events, logs, metrics, traces, and audits in one store — a console log viewer, a CLI tail, and an export API. - [Logs](https://snoozestack.com/docs/logs.md): Runtime output is a signal: tail it locally, stream it hosted. ## Agents - [MCP (AI clients)](https://snoozestack.com/docs/mcp.md): Connect an AI client to your project's management MCP endpoint: tokens, the tool catalogue, and the docs it serves alongside them. - [MCP tool catalogue](https://snoozestack.com/docs/mcp-tools.md): Every tool an AI agent gets through a project's management MCP endpoint: what each one is for, whether it reads or changes the project, and its inputs. - [CLI reference](https://snoozestack.com/docs/cli.md): Every snoozestack CLI command. - [Management API](https://snoozestack.com/docs/management-api.md): The portal's own HTTP API — everything the CLI and UI do. ## Optional - [Full documentation](https://snoozestack.com/llms-full.txt): every page above concatenated into one file (~281 KB), for tools that would rather make one request than 27. - [Pricing](https://snoozestack.com/pricing/): Plans, the project limit on each, and what is included. - [Compare](https://snoozestack.com/compare/): How snoozestack differs from the platforms it gets weighed against. - [About](https://snoozestack.com/about/): What the platform is for, and the shape of the company behind it. - [Privacy policy](https://snoozestack.com/privacy/): What data snoozestack collects and how it is handled. - [Terms of service](https://snoozestack.com/terms/): The terms covering use of the hosted platform.
